Emirates Post is a diversified postal corporation providing postal and non-postal services through a network of over 90 post offices and over 400 postal agencies. The offering includes government services, banking, utility bill payment, payment of traffic fines, parking cards, ID card registrations, international driving licenses and remittances. Emirates Post is set to enter new business areas, either through mergers or acquisitions. The corporation aims to be active in financial services, logistics, cargo and many other fields in the near future.
In 2007, Emirates Post became one of the subsidiaries of Emirates Post Holding under a Federal decree. The other subsidiaries under the holding group are Electronic Document Centre (EDC); Empost, the national courier company; Emirates Marketing & Promotions (EMP) and Wall Street Exchange.
Emirates Post Corporation is recognized as one of the most dynamic postal organizations in the world, with high standards of service and a customer-focused approach to business.
Emirates Post acquired a new mission on May 29, 2001, when it was converted from General Postal Authority into Emirates Post Corporation following a Federal decree. Since then, Emirates Post has recorded many achievements by introducing innovative services and entering into alliances with postal authorities in different countries and international and local companies within the UAE.
Emirates Post has set up the Training and Development Centre, which has obtained accreditation from UPU. The centre is being used as the regional base for all training programs organized by UPU. All its courses are posted on the UPU’s TRAINPOST website to allow postal employees from the Arab world to benefit from its offering.
Emirates Post is now gearing for further corporatization. There are plans for an IPO in the near future. The corporation has prepared an ambitious growth plan that will be unveiled in the coming months.
Emirates Post was selected by Universal Postal Union to host its Strategy Conference from November 14 to 16, 2006, in Dubai. This is the first time that the UPU Strategy Conference was held outside Switzerland, the headquarters of UPU.
The 24th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress elected the United Arab Emirates to two important councils for 2009-2012: member of the Council of Administration (CA) and Postal Operations Council (POC). More significantly, the United Arab Emirates achieved another honour in the global postal community with the POC appointing it as its Deputy Chairman for 2009-2012.
