It is with great pleasure that Emirates Post is hosting the 2nd Arab Stamp Exhibition in Dubai. We look at this event as a platform for creating interest in philately or stamp collecting, the most popular hobby in the world.

It is our privilege to welcoming you to the UAE, a country that is a second home to many of you. He hope you have a wonderful time here, and we pray that you meet all your objectives at this exhibition.

As you know, globally, there are millions of stamp collectors, and thousands of philately clubs that work to encourage this hobby. Hundreds of exhibitions are held to showcase stamps and expose people to the wonderful world of philately. Stamp collecting broadens our knowledge of the world’s cultures and customs. Stamps help countries to promote their culture and achievements to the whole world. Countries compete with each other in presenting the best stamps in the world.

In the Arab world, unfortunately, this hobby has yet to gain recognition and popularity. Many people in the region regard philately as a silly pastime. Exhibitions like these help to remove such misconceptions and educate people on the true worth of stamps and philately. Serious stamp collectors develop a strong passion for stamps. In the Arab world, we have a few philatelists whose collection has won international recognition.

Yet, we feel we have not done enough to give philately the importance it deserves. The 2nd Arab Stamp Exhibition is an initiative that will attempt to correct this situation. Emirates Post and Emirates Philately are proud to support and organize this major event.
